THE WILL OF GOD
A lot of people ask me the question, ”What is the will of God
for my life, or how can I know what the will of God is for my
life?
The answer is found in 1 John
5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if
we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. 15: And
if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we
have the petitions that we desired of him.
I. From this scripture we understand that the WILL OF GOD is
the Word of God.
A. If we can find what we need, or want in the Word
of God, then it is the will of God for us to have it.
1. For example, can we receive healing from the Lord?
- Isaiah 53:4-5 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and
carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of
God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace
was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
- Matt. 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by
Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and
bare our sicknesses.
- 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) Who his own self bare our sins in his
own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
2. Is it the will of God for us to be saved, why? Yes,
because the Word of God tells us in John 3:16 (KJV) For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
3. Is it the will of God for us to prosper, Why? Psalms 35:27
(KJV) Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my
righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be
magnifie d, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his
servant.
a. Many are the promises that God’s Word tells us
His Will to bless us. Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they
shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in
pleasures.
b. Luke 6:38 38 Give, and it shall be given unto
you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and
running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same
measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
c. 3 John 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that
thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul
prospereth.
d. Understanding is the reward of faith. Therefore seek not to
understand that thou mayest believe, but believe that thou
mayest understand.
II. The Word of God is the
Will of God.
A. Then the Will of God is the Word of God.
B. You can not separate the one from another,
1. Faith and works should travel side by side, step answering
to step, like the legs of men walking. First faith, and then
works; and then faith again, and then works again -- until they
can scarcely distinguish which is the one and which is the
other.
III. The Word of God has the answer for any problem,
situation, or circumstance that you encounter in life; make
it your source of daily living because it is the WILL OF GOD!
A. All that I am I owe to Jesus Christ, revealed to me in His divine
Book. ~ David Livingstone,
B. When God bolts the door, don't try to get in through the window. The
will of God never will lead you where the grace of God cannot
keep you. Remember what Jesus said in John 10.9 I am the door:
by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in
and out, and find pasture.
God bless you and yours!
