Ten things to do if
you will live a happy and fulfilled life!
1 John 1:1- 1John 2:3
Most everyone wants to have a happy and fulfilled life. However,
like everything in life there are certain things we must work toward
to acquire success. However, like victory, the greater the battle,
and the greater the victory. In this outline we list some of the
efforts we must apply to our life to acquire this happy and
fulfilled life during our span of years on this earth.
I. First and most important is our salvation and serving the Lord! Exodus 10:26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an
hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our
God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come
thither. A. When you are truly ’born again’ you will desire to service the
Lord. 1.We all must be born again, saved by His Grace. 2.You must call on Him and receive His as your own personal Saviour. Romans 10: 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.
II: We also need to walk and work with the Lord! Exodus 18:20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and
shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that
they must do. A. We walk with Him when we walk in the Spirit. (Gal 5:25 KJV) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the
Spirit. 1. We do this when we walk in His Word. (2 Cor 6:1 KJV) We then, as workers together with him, beseech you
also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. a. We then become fellow workers with the Lord.
III. We need to Worship Him in Spirit and Truth. John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship
him in spirit and in truth. A. We do this when it comes from the overflowing spirit filled
heart. (Eph 5:19 KJV) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the
Lord;
IV. We must believe that ’He is’! Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for
he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him. A. God wants us to have total faith in who He is, what He can do and
that He is with us. B. He will never leave us.
V. We must be gentle with all men and not be fighters. 2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be
gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 1. Although the world tells us to be assertive, the Word tells us to
be gentle. 2. Tact is thinking twice before saying nothing. 3. Tact is the ability to think of things far enough in advance not
to say them. 4. Tact is the ability to stand on your own two feet without
stepping on anybody’s toes. 5. People with tact have less to retract
VI. We must be obedient to the laws of man as long as they are not
contrary to the Laws of God. Romans 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath,
but also for conscience sake. (Heb 13:17 KJV) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit
yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give
account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that
is unprofitable for you.
VII. We must overcome trials and tribulations. Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them
to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation
enter into the kingdom of God. A. Live is not a bed of roses. Remember roses have thorns also. B. It may not be easy to believe but a trial builds our faith when
we overcome.
C. The evangelization of the world is the dearest work to the heart
of God. The evangelization of the world is work number one for the church
VIII. Most important work of the church is to publish the Gospel to
the world. A. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature.
IX. We all must die in this life with only one escape and that is
the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Heb 9:27 KJV) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but
after this the judgment: A. Another good reason to preach the Gospel. B. When we have Christ, when we leave this world we will be in His
presence. We will put on immortality 1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible
must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
X. Last on my list is that we will all appear be the judgment seat
of Christ for what we have done on earth either good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat
of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,
according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
1. I shall tell you a great secret, my friend. Do not wait for the
last judgment. It takes place every day. Albert Camus 2. To sensible men, every day is a day of reckoning. John W. Gardner 3. When we come to the end of life, the question will be, "How much
have you given?" not "How much have you gotten?" George Sweeting,
God bless you and yours!
