TEN WONDERFUL
REASONS TO LOOK UP AND REJOICE!
Many times in our Christian walk we may feel down and discouraged. I
personally have learned to begin each morning with this confession.
“Jesus Christ is Lord! He is Lord of my spirit, my mind and my body!”
This gives no room for the enemy. In this outline we list 10 wonderful
reasons to rejoice and as we rejoice, our discouragement will dissipate.
- 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor
ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which
God hath prepared for them that love him.
Reason #1 One day we will receive a new body.
- 1 Corinthians 15:52 (KJV) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at
the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be
raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Reason #2 One day we will have a new home.
It will require no repair. It is built especially for you and will be
perfect. - John 14:2 (KJV) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not
so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. - John 14:3 (KJV) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be
also.
Reason #3 We will be like Jesus and will not be able to sin. - 1 John 3:2 (KJV) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not
yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we
shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. A. People often wonder what type of body we will have. It is going to be
just like Jesus’ resurrected body. B. It will have the same ability as His.
Reason #4. You will know the Bible saints when you see them. - Matthew 8:11 (KJV) And I say unto you, That many shall come from the
east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in
the kingdom of heaven.
Reason #5 We will also see and speak to our loved ones that died in
the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 (KJV) 13 But I would not have you to be
ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow
not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus
died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God
bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord,
that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not
prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the
trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which
are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord.
Reason #6 We will spend eternity in a perfect place so much better
than we have ever known. A new heaven and a new earth, let me read just a few verses from Rev.
21. - Rev. 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven
and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I
John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of
heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a
great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with
men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God
himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away
all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former
things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold,
I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are
true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and
Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst
of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall
inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But
the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have
their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is
the second death. - Rev. 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large
as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand
furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. Rev. 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate
was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were
transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God
Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need
of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God
did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of
them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the
earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of it
shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
Reason #7 We will never again suffer pain, heartbreak, sickness and
death. - 1 Corinthians 15:26 (KJV) The last enemy that shall be destroyed is
death. - Revelation 7:16-17 (KJV) 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst
any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the
Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead
them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes.
Reason #8, We will one day kneel and confess with our mouths that
Jesus Christ is Lord! - Philippians 2:10 (KJV) That at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the
earth; A. If we confess Him now, it will be an unspeakable joy to do so on that
last day. B. The brilliant scientist Sir Isaac Newton said that he could take his
telescope and look millions and millions of miles into space. Then he
added, "But when I lay it aside, go into my room, shut the door, and get
down on my knees in earnest prayer, I see more of Heaven and feel closer
to the Lord than if I were assisted by all the telescopes on earth."
Reason #9 We will one day join the angels in Worship and Praise. - Revelation 5:11-13 (KJV) 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of
many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and
the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of
thousands; 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was
slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and
honour, and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in
heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the
sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and
glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the
Lamb for ever and ever. - Revelation 7:9-12 (KJV) 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great
multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and
people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb,
clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a
loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne,
and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on
their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory,
and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto
our God for ever and ever. Amen. A. A. W. Tozer said, "We are called to an everlasting preoccupation with
God." B. When we submit to Jesus' lordship, we'll give him our worship.
C. It is possible to be so active in the service of Christ as to forget
to love him. D. The word worship is a shortened form of the old word worthship, which
means showing God the worth he holds in your life. E. Fellowship with a holy God will produce holy living.
Reason #10 Best of all, we will see our Father God. - Job 19:26 (KJV) And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet
in my flesh shall I see God: - 1 John 3:2 (KJV) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not
yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we
shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
May God help us to remember to look up and see the author and finisher
of our faith the Lord Jesus Christ! Let us open our hearts daily to Him,
His Word and His Spirit through His great salvation.
God bless you and yours!
