The 10 Commandments of Faith
- September 14,
1996
Much is said about the 10 Commandments that God gave us through Moses in recent
times. However, all that is said about the danger of them to one’s health etc,
(tongue in cheek as I write this) no one has suffered harm from reading them,
repeating them, preaching on them, looking at them or standing beside them.
DID YOU KNOW?
As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you
can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each
one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal
view...it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments!
DID YOU KNOW?
As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten
Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door.
DID YOU KNOW?
As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the
Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments! There are Bible
verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in
Washington, D.C.
James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution"
made the following statement: "We have staked the whole of all our political
institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity
of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain
ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."
Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said: "It cannot
be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not
by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus
Christ".
DID YOU KNOW? Every session of Congress
begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the
taxpayer since 1777. Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were
members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.
DID YOU KNOW? The very first Supreme Court
Justice, John Jay, said: "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their
rulers."
How, then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220
years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional? Chamber, US
House of Representatives It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.
Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having
the Ten Commandments on display or "In God We Trust" on our money and having God
in the Pledge of Allegiance.
However, in this outline I am going to give you what I call the ‘TEN
COMMANDMENTS OF FAITH’! I wonder if this will injure anyone, however, my
intention is for them to speak, convict and help all who read or hear this
message
I. Thou Shalt Not Talk of Fear! (Fear is opposite of faith.)
(2 Tim 1:7 KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind.
II. Thou Shalt not say I am weak!
(Psa 27:1 KJV) A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom
shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
III. Thou Shalt not talk of inability. (this gives rise to feelings in
inferiority)
(Phil 4:13 KJV) I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.
IV. Thou Shalt not talk of pains and symptoms of sickness.
(Mat 8:17 KJV) That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the
prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
(Isa 53:5 KJV) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we
are healed.
(Ex 15:26 KJV) And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the
LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to
his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases
upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that
healeth thee.
(Ex 23:25 KJV) And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy
bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
V. Thou Shalt not worry or be anxious.
(Phil 4:6 KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(Phil 4:7 KJV) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep
your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(1 Pet 5:7 KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
VI. Thou Shalt not fear poverty and lack material things.
(Phil 4:19 KJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his
riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
(Psa 23:1 KJV) A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
(3 John 1:2 KJV) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and
be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
(Psa 37:25 KJV) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
(Psa 1:3 KJV) And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that
bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
VII. Thou Shalt not fear trouble nor any evil.
(Psa 91:7 KJV) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy
right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
(Psa 91:8 KJV) Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the
wicked.
(Psa 91:9 KJV) Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the
most High, thy habitation;
(Psa 91:10 KJV) There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling.
(Psa 91:11 KJV) For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in
all thy ways.
(2 Tim 4:8 KJV) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me
only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
VIII. Thou Shalt not be afraid of persecution or of failure.
(Psa 34:19 KJV) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD
delivereth him out of them all.
(Phil 1:6 KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a
good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
(Psa 84:11 KJV) For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace
and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
IX. Thou Shalt not be afraid of Man nor of demons.
(Luke 10:19 KJV) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means
hurt you.
(Prov 29:25 KJV) The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust
in the LORD shall be safe.
(1 John 4:4 KJV) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because
greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
(2 Cor 2:14 KJV) Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in
Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
(Rom 8:37 KJV) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him
that loved us.
X. Thou shalt not fret thyself nor fear of what to do or worry about God’s
guidance.
(Psa 37:23 KJV) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he
delighteth in his way.
(Psa 37:25 KJV) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
The day that the LAW was given, 3,000 men died,
however, on the day that the Church was born, (The Day of Pentecost) 3,000 came
alive when they received the message and GRACE of God. Truly, Jesus Christ is
the end of the LAW of Righteous to every one who believes. Will you open your
heart to Him today.
