QUEEN OF SHEBA COMES
TO THE KING!
In this sermon outline we see the principles of seeking, finding and
receiving in the story of the Queen of Sheba coming to King Solomon.
This can be applied to our daily walk and life with Christ.
- 1 Kings 10:1-7 (KJV) 1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame
of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with
hard questions. 2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train,
with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones:
and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was
in her heart. 3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not
any thing hid from the king, which he told her not. 4 And when the queen
of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,
5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the
attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and
his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no
more spirit in her. 6 And she said to the king, It was a true report
that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom. 7 Howbeit I
believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and,
behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth
the fame which I heard.
I. The Queen of Sheba heard something. - Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the
word of God. A. She heard of the Name of the Lord. 1. This is why we go preaching the Word of God in the Name of Jesus
so that People will come to Him. a. We need to lift up Jesus. We are lifting up
too many programs when we need to lift up the Name of the Lord! John
12:32 (KJV) And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men
unto me. B. She was not disappointed. 1. People are happy when they come to Christ. 2. I have never met anyone that was sorry they were saved,
knowing their sins were gone, their names written in heaven. Never met
one that was sorry that they became a Christian, mind you through I
never met one that was sorry, I met a love of 'sorry' looking ones. a. He gives great Joy.
II. She sought something...she came to prove him with hard questions. A. She was looking for answers. B. We may not know the answer, but we know who does. C. She was looking and seeking. Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV) 7 Ask, and it shall
be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened
unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. D. The world needs to seek Jesus. 1. We need to call them to Christ through the preaching of
the Word.
III. She brought something when she came to the King. A. We need to bring something to Christ. 1. He wants our life. He takes our old live and gives us a
new life. - 1 John 5:12 (KJV) He that hath the Son hath life; and he
that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 2. He takes our old life and gives us a new one.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are
become new.
IV. The Queen after she came she could see. A. It was greater than she could imagine. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (KJV) 9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for
them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:
for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. B. Paul said it was more than words could describe. - 2 Corinthians 12:4 Amplified Bible (AMP) 4 Was caught up into paradise,
and he heard utterances beyond the power of man to put into words, which
man is not permitted to utter.
V. She came and she received.
- 1 Kings 10:13 (KJV) And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all
her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of
his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her
servants. A. She left with more than she gave. B. God's Kingdom principle is working here. Luke 6:38 (KJV) Give, and it
shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken
together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the
same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. C. Let us come, seeking asking and receive from the Living Saviour!
God bless you and yours!
