Jesus Blood Never Loses Its Power
Summary: Without the shedding of the blood of Jesus we could
not be saved. His blood and His love is the means we can be
forgiven and saved. While the liberal church does not want
the blood of Jesus spoken and even never sing such as there
is power in the Blood of Jesus
I. First mention
of blood in scripture
A. Death.
- Gen 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the
voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Foreshadows the Atonement; Abel was a Sheppard
- Gen 4:2 And
she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of
sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. Abel was hated
without cause
-
1John 3:12 Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and
slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own
works were evil, and his brother's righteous. Abel died a
violent death by wicked hands, as did our Lord
-
Act 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and
foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands
have crucified and slain: As the blood of Abel cried to God
,So does the Blood of Christ cry God ward for His people!
-
Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant,
and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things
than [that of] Abel.
B. Life
- Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh [is] in the
blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an
atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.
-
John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and
drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
- John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life;
and I will raise him up at the last day.
-
Ex. 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the
houses where ye [are]: and when I see the blood, I will pass
over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy
[you], when I smite the land of Egypt. And when I see the
blood I will pass over you
II. What the scriptures teach about the blood of Christ
A. Eternally Appointed
- Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the
earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the
book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the
world.
B. Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without
blame before him in love:
C. Innocent
- Mat 27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the
innocent blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see
thou [to that]
-
Luke 23:22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what
evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I
will therefore chastise him, and let [him] go.
C. Precious
- 1Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of
Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
D. Necessary
- Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the
law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no
remission.
-
Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which
is shed for many for the remission of sins.
E. Sufficient
- Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of
Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself
without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works
to serve the living God?
F. Final
- Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and
calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the
holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us].
- Heb
9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;
and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second
time without sin unto salvation.
III. The blood brings about;
A. Reconciliation
- Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much
more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
-
2 Cron 5:18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled
us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the
ministry of reconciliation;
-
Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies
in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
B. Redemption
- Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through
his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:
- 1Peter 1:18
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with
corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain
conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers;
- 1Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a
lamb without blemish and without spot:
C. Justification
- Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified
by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
-
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far
off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Conclusion: When I see the blood
The precious blood of Christ is set forever before the eyes
of God, we may be like the Israelite, inside the house and
cannot see the blood but God sees the blood of His Son
applied to all of His people. It is not your faith in the
blood, but God seeing the blood, it is not your turning to
the blood, but God seeing the blood.
