Four Born
Again Characteristics of the Believer!
When you are Born Again there are many changes that take
place in you life.
Some are immediately and some changes take a lifetime as we
grow in the knowledge of our Lord. In this sermon outline we
list four characteristics that will certainly take place
immediately and continue to grow as you serve the Lord.
Bible Reading: John 3:1-17
I. You will have a Love for Jesus!
- Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking
for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
A. Whoever loves much, does much. Thomas a' Kempis.
B. It is natural to love them that love us, but it is supernatural to
love them that hate us
C. There is nothing you can to do make God love you more! There is
nothing you can do to make God love you less! His love is
Unconditional, Impartial, Everlasting, Infinite, Perfect!

II. You will have desire to be Holy.
- 1 Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy,
so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
A. Although we are made upon rebirth the righteousness of God, we do grow
in holiness.
1. A holy life will make the deepest impression. Lighthouses
blow no horns, they just shine. D.L. Moody.
2. How little people know who think that holiness is dull.
When one meets real thing, it is irresistible. C.S. Lewis,
III. You will have an inter witness!
- Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of God:
- 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it
doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when
he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him
as he is.
A. This was the heart of John Wesley’s messages of Salvation, the inter
witness of the Spirit of God.
IV. You will have a desire to share and tell others about
Jesus and what He has done for you.
- Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy
Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be [a] witnesses to
Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the
end of the earth.”
A. My wife Marge said she was 8 years old when during a time of revival
in Alberta, Canada she received Jesus as her own personal
Saviour. This was in 1948 and the next day she could hardly
wait to tell all her friends about Jesus and how she was
saved. That desire is still in her heart. God puts that
desire in to your hearts to share Jesus.
B. Salvation depends upon Christ's work for us, while rewards depend upon
our works for Christ. Milburn Cockrell.
