The Most Important One Minute Sermon!
The
fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth
souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30 (KJV)
I. Lord, make
us wise! After 57 years of missionary evangelism our passion is
still for souls of men.
A. Charles Spurgeon said “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap
to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them
perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them
to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth
of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”
II. This
should be our prayer. Lord, give me a heart for souls as this.
Let me cry out for souls and preach the message of salvation
until you call me home.
A. I guess this is one reason we have gone to the Nations for over 55
years with this burning in our bones for the lost.
III. THE
SUPREME TASK OF THE CHURCH STILL REMAINS TO BE THE
EVANGELIZATION OF THE WORLD.
A. There is nothing nearer to the heart of God than soul-winning. Jesus
last words were “GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE
GOSPEL.”
B. Yet, even now the fire is still there burning, burning and still
burning for the souls of the lost. I cannot envision the greater
Love and intense burning in the heart of God.
Psalm 2:8 KJV
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine
inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy
possession
