How Long Has It
Been?
I was especially moved with blessings hearing the words of this
old song that I felt it may bless you as it asks questions of
us.
"How Long Has It Been"
How long has it been since
you talked with the Lord
And told him your heart's hidden secrets?
How long since you prayed?
How long since you stayed on your knees till the light shone
through?
How long has it been since your mind felt at ease?
How long since your heart knew no burden?
Can you call him your friend?
How long has it been since you knew that he cared for you?
How long has it been since you knelt by your bed
And prayed to the Lord up in heaven?
How long since you knew that he'd answer you
And would keep you the long night through?
How long has it been since you woke with the dawn
And felt this day is worth living?
Can you call him your friend?
How long has it been since you knew that he cared for you?..
Remember Jeremiah was in prison when God spoke this to him.
- Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV) Call unto me, and I will answer thee,
and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.)
Praise God you and I can come
to Him at this very moment and He will meet with us.
- Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall
find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden
is light.
He is only an prayer away.
