It had been some time since we were last
in the United Kingdom for ministry.
What a great joy to meet
and see friends, some of whom we had not seen for many
years. For ministry, we visited the cities of Folkestone,
Birmingham, and Manchester in England and Old Colwyn and
Colwyn Bay, North Wales.
We were sorry that our dear friend
of 39 years; Pastor John Lipton had passed away a few weeks
before we got to Cheriton, Folkestone for ministry. His
daughter and son in law, Pastors John and June Woodland,
pastor the church there. We did have some good fellowship
with them.
John Lipton’s widow
Joan was there and we did enjoy our short time together.
They told me that just before John Lipton passed away, he
opened his eyes and shouted, “Open the gates!” We expect
John and June will one day come to teach in our training
school in Ukraine.

We also had good
fellowship with our representatives Doug and Davina Graham.
They have been friends for almost 40 years, representatives
for 35 in England. They did travel to a few of our meetings
with us.
We also had a visit with Doug’s Sister Helen and
husband George Jesze. They are missionaries to the
German-speaking people of Europe. We had not seen them, nor
their daughter Elizabeth for 15 years.
We did reminisce
about past ministry together in Germany and Switzerland.
George has written several books and in his book “God’s
Interpreter,” he wrote a chapter on Marge and I, called
“God’s Powerhouse.”

Tony, Marge, Davina and Doug Graham,
faithful representatives in England for 35 years! |
We also made some
attentive plans for future ministry and outreach in Germany
and Switzerland. George is a good interpreter has been used
by such people as Morris Cerrillo, T. L. Osborn, and Yongi Cho.
We also had
the joy of ministering at The Oasis in Colwyn Bay with
Pastor Bob Searle. We last saw him in 1963 in Portsmouth,
England when we ministered for him there. This ministry is
the headquarters for churches, missionaries, evangelists and
ministers in many lands.
Our dear Irish friends,
Len and Agnes Harvey, put this and several other meetings
together for us. We enjoyed ministering in Wales and believe
God can send another revival as He did 100 years ago.
|
Len and Agnes are very
busy as laymen in the Work of God. With his permission, we
are printing one of his many poems in this edition of the
Good News.
In the Manchester,
England meeting we saw some dear friends, the Simons, Moodys
and others.
Meeting friends and
having fellowship is good, however the best was seeing
people saved and healed by the power of God.

|
As we witnessed in our
meeting, God healed Pastor Allen Ball while he was helping
us pray for the sick. Our last meeting was in Hockley,
Birmingham. The Hockley church was the first church Marge
and I preached in outside of North America and also the
first church in England. That was on the December 31st 1962.

Pastors John and June Woodland. |
Two precious sisters, Miss Fisher and Miss Reaves
founded a great work. We were last there in 1984 for a
four-day crusade. Sister Fisher was buried the day before
that and Sister Reaves has gone on to be with the Lord since
we were last there but their works still follow them.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me,
Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from
henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from
their labours; and their works do follow them. Rev 14:13
(KJV)

They have a new Pastor
now. However, Miles and Judy Witherford were in
charge. They had been the pastors for many years, working
with the two sisters and then taking over the pastorship.
They were in Australia
for seven years during the year Marge I spent in Australia.
We became good friends. In these meetings, we saw the power
of God in operation.
We saw the gifts of the
Spirit working and I believe God is raising up some new
workers for the Work of God He will put on the frontlines of
evangelism.

There is so much we could
say, however, God keeps the records. One day when we are
with the Lord, time will be no more. We can go through all
of God’s records and rejoice and give God all praise, honor
and glory!
And there are also
many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should
be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself
could not contain the books that should be written. (John
21:25 KJV)
Amen. We believe we
were in God’s time in the United Kingdom.
We were to have been in
Brazil but those meetings fell through again. We were able
to utilize this time in Great Britain. The Bible says the
steps of a good man and a good woman are ordered of God.
Psalms 23: The steps
of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall
not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with
his hand. 25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I
not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

The Crucifixion! by Len Harvey
‘Tis done! Behold Messiah dies
And darkness spreads across the skies
The temple veil has rent in twain
To prove the Cross was not in vain
But people laughed and jeered and said
Is this He who raised the dead
And preached and healed the sick abroad
And said He was the Son of God
But while they ridiculed His Name
And brought it down to sin and shame
Three days had passed and as He said
I’ll rise again from the dead
Mary, she went to the tomb
And mourned and wept, but oh so soon
She heard a voice that made her shake
‘Twas the Master that had spake
Jesus has died and has risen again
And He’s coming in Glory forever to reign
Though people may laugh and tempt us and say
Where is the promise of His coming today?
We cannot be moved from the Bible of old
Its’ words will remain when all will grow cold
So now is the time to preach the true Word
And win the lost souls for our Dear Loving Lord! |

Please continue to pray for us.
We believe God’s people
carry us and our ministry with their prayers and faith.
As
you pray for us you have a part in the harvest. God bless
you.

Tony & Marge
