BED BUGS!
We arrived at the capital city of Punjab, the city of Amritsar
the site of out next open air crusade.
The trip was about 12 hours in an old Volkswagen van, of course
no A/C.
The weather was hot and humid with temperatures at the
100-degree (40 C) plus mark.
We saw many dead animals on those treacherous roads.
I remember seeing one dead elephant along the side of the road
with cars going around.
Arriving in the city, tired hot and hungry we arrived at a hotel
that did not look bad from the outside.
There was a huge doorman dressed with fancy ceremonial Punjabi
clothing and with a huge sword.
The reception area looked fairly nice, however, when we came
into our room, it was something else.
There was moisture was seeping through the walls and with one
light bulb. We did not care; we got down one on each side of the
small double bed and prayed thanking God that we had arrived
safely.
Since we only had two or three hours sleep the night before, we
immediately fell asleep.
Waking up in the morning I began to count bedbug bites.
I asked Marge how many bedbug bites did she receive?
She answered and said “None at all.”
I said, “How can that be? I have 113 bed bug bites and you have
none at all? I am so itchy.”
She answered and said “Perhaps it’s because when we knelt last
night to pray, I said to the inhabitants of the bed that I was a
child of God, God’s property and you cannot bite me.”
I looked at her and I said, “Thank you very much.”
She answered, “What do you mean?”
I said, “Don’t you know what happened?”
She said, “No.“ I said, “When you prayed that prayer, all the
bugs on your side of the bed came over and took advantage of on
unprotected territory.”
I made her promise me that she would never pray a prayer like
that without letting me know first.
There is power in words spoken in the NAME OF JESUS!
- Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on
serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and
nothing shall by any means hurt you.
